Sex For Pregnancy

In the overwhelming majority of cases sex, though being meant for reproduction, is quite a pleasant thing that does not result in pregnancy. According to the theory of probability, there are so few chances to get pregnant that it seems quite strange that life on Earth still exists.

Conception depends on coincidence of very many factors such as mature egg cell, mature sperm, their getting together in the right place and in the right time. Only one of 300-400 sperm cells that are contained in a portion of sperm will become a “father”, and only if all beneficial conditions coincide.

Male anatomy considerably decreases the chances of pregnancy. It is shaped so that one friction removes about 90 percent of sperm. Are there chances that the most active, the fastest sperm cell will be in those remaining 10 percent? If the penis was absolutely smooth it would leave in female body about 70 percent of sperm.

There are three types of sperm cells: active, not quite active and absolutely inactive sperm cells. Sperm of an average man usually contains all the three types of sperm cells. This fact also decreases chances of pregnancy. Simple logics suggests that pregnancy is something nearly impossible.

However, nature is far from logics. The rich experience of humanity shows that the chance to get pregnant at the first attempt is 1 to 5. Your chances to succeed during three menstrual cycles is 1 to 3. If you try to get pregnant for half an year, your chances are 2 to 3. Of course, provided you both are healthy.

Good period

Of course, the best day for conception is the day of ovulation. On this day you have a 40 percent chance to get pregnant. If you make love 1 or 2 days before ovulation, than your chances comprise about 30-35 percent. If you have sex on the fourth day before ovulation the probability decreases up to 10 percent. Days after ovulation cannot be considered absolutely sterile, but no doctor will give you more than 2 percent of probability.

Male fertility mostly depends on the season. Sperm contains the biggest number of sperm cells in the beginning of spring and in the end of the autumn. Activity of sperm cells reaches its peak in the end of summer and in the beginning of autumn.

No hot baths!

Does your husband love hot baths? Now he should not enjoy this pleasure. Too high temperature worsens quality of sperm and can make it almost sterile. Centuries ago hot bathing was used as a method of contraception (we are living in the 21th century, so do consider other, more effective methods of contraception). So a man who wants to become a father should not have hot baths or even hot shower before sex.

Women can enjoy baths of whatever temperature as hot bathing does not influence female fertility.

Don't overdo sex

You might think that much sex means many chances to get pregnant. In fact sperm cells require 3-4 days to become mature. This means that you should have sex once in 3 or 4 days, or at least day after day.

Romantic dinner

Fat-free food does not contribute to production of sex hormones. Your dinner should not consist of salads and nothing more.

By the way, a study by French researches has proven that little doses of red wine increases your chances for getting pregnant, unlike stronger alcohol drinks that considerably diminish the chances. The same can be said about coffee. No coffee before sex!

Good foreplay

Foreplay contributes to relaxation of the entire female body including reproductive system. When beloved man caresses your sensitive zones your brain produces a great deal of endorphines that contributes to softening of the neck of the womb. The neck of the womb begins producing mucus that is very favorable for conception.

Right lubricants

Use only water-based lubricants if you want to get pregnant as oil-based lubricants prevent sperm cells from moving. Make sure the lube does not contain sperm-killing agents!
