FPA warns on the right size of the condom

Britain Family Planning Association (FPA) focuses public interest on the proper usage of condoms. Condoms should go in different shapes and sizes and they should be widely distributed among all people so that to avoid unwanted pregnancies and STD's infections.

FPA interviewed more than 500 men and found out that one third of them had experienced troubles with either breakage of the condom or its slipping off. What is really surprising, about two thirds of respondents couldn't actually tell what a cause of such a failure was and a quarter wasn't even aware of the condom size differences. Just about a half of them admitted that talking about condom size differences is quite an intimidating topic for them to talk freely to someone outside like health consultants.

Condom is a well known method of contraception, which is one of the most popular and effective in preventing infecting with STD's. And it can be really an effective one but just if you use it correctly.

New types of condoms are nevertheless designed not only to improve its quality but to make them fit each man's penis sizes to the best. And the fact that most men prefer to buy condoms without asking about the proper size is quite clear, taking into account such a delicate issue. Considering that most men are unsatisfied with their penis sizes and tend to think of their manhood being either too small or too big (though less frequently) the necessity to talk about this in the eyes of an unknown person can be really unpleasant to them. As a result of such embarrassment is the wrong choice of the size the consequences can be quite crucial to their health.

One of the main factors influencing condom slipping off is the way the condom fits each men's penis. And every man experiencing problems with condoms usage will finally refuse to use it as a method of contraception thus increasing the risk of unwanted pregnancy and STD's. Latest researches in Britain show that the rate of clamidiosis cases increased considerably in the last few years and that can be a result of the contraceptive misuse. That's why it becomes highly important to consult men on condom usage and help them find right contraceptives.

Toni Belfield, an FPA explains that as every man is an individual we should choose the condom according to the size. Health professionals in this regard can do a great job in advising their clients on the better choice of this type of contraception. It would be even better if clinics related to sexual health provide useful information on the wide range of condoms.

Most people who are experiencing troubles with condom use are dealing either with the misuse or bad quality condoms. In spite of the fact that using a condom is a very simple task even, many people seem to invent a lot of awkward ways to make it absolutely useless, like trying to put it on a non-erect penis or not leaving any space at the tip, using an ill-matched lubricant (like oil-based) with a condom and the like. It seems that sex education is a necessary thing not only for teens but for adults also. Being such a delicate item, surprisingly enough, many people don't like to take the issue to the surface. But considering a condom is still the only contraceptive to prevent you from STD's, it's absolutely unreasonable to keep those issues in secret. That's why the programs that are aimed to make all those matters clear keep on their campaign to make safe sex the primary goal for those who want to get pleasure and nothing more than pleasure.
