Hindu Nationalists to Outlaw Vibrating Condoms

Vibrating condoms have been proposed to be outlawed by Hindy nationalists who seem to have as a goal to ban sexual pleasure in the country, as they have already outlawed sex education in a number of schools. The main reason for outlawing vibrating condoms is that these enhance sexual pleasure and should be considered sex toys.

Condoms that include a vibrating ring are devices for getting sexual satisfaction, rather than a method of family planning, according to Kailash Vijayvargiya, the public works minister for Madhya Pradesh, governed by Hindy nationalist party. The minister has instructed government officers to check whether there is a law banning such things. If there is not such a law they will make one, Kailash Vijayvagiya says.

These events seem to be the evidence of how propaganda of condoms use, as an effort to diminish HIV rate is twarted by puritane and conservative attitudes towards everything related to sex. Nevertheless, the fact that the condoms were sold in shops shows how fast these attitudes are desintegrating among young people in India.

The Condoms

Vibrating condoms, Crezendos that began being sold six months ago in India are available in packs containing three condoms and a miniature vibrator attached to a ring. The ring is designed to sit at the base of the condom and to stimulate both partners during sex. The vibrator is battery powered and the battery lasts for twenty minutes, according to Hindustan Latex, the condom's manufacturer.

People mostly refuse using condoms because of lack of pleasure. Thus it is very important to encourage people to use condoms through making them pleasant to use, according to Hindustan Latex.

Grezendos and other premium condom brands are becoming more and more popular among young people in India, as they have a less conservative attitude towards sex and are more likely to have pre-marital sex, according to industry insiders.

Also two events show that condoms are becoming increasingly popular in India. This month a 'condom bar' opened in the northern state of Punjab, while in the state of Gujarat health officials hand free condoms outside cinemas where pornografic movies are shown.

With everything said above, conservative attitudes towards sex prevail in India, as sex education has been banned in six Indian states.

About 5.7 million people in India have AIDS, while a new study suggests that thee number of HIV positive Indians is as low as three million.
