Anal toys: care and cleaning

After purchase

Before you will make use for anal toy, you should check its surface for any notches and other imperfections. Small defects can be eliminated with a help of a nail file. Cleaning

First of all remove all batteries or other mechanisms (if removable) to protect you toy from water leakage. Metal, Glass, Lucite and Silicone can be boiled for disinfection. Rubber, Cyberskin and other porous materials should be cleaned more thoroughly to prevent them from infections residue. High temperature makes them more fragile and may cause cracking and other imperfections.

Storage

Make sure your toy is completely dry before you put it in a close-up. Moist toys are a good environment for bacteria breeding. Store your anal toys in a dry place, which is protected from sun. A good solution would be a soft cloth, where you can wrap your anal toy safe.

Lubrication

All anal toys should be accompanied with a good lubrication. It's better to use water-based for all. Silicone lubrication also fits almost every toy, the only exception is silicone devices-they are non-compatible with this lube. Never use oil-based lubes; they may do considerable harm to your toy. It's important to remember that anal area doesn't produce its own lubrication, so you will never be mistaken if you use plenty of it. Lubrication protects you from discomfort and possible injures.

Safety

Give priority to condom usage when you are going to insert your toy. Don't use the same device for anal and vaginal penetration. This increases the risk of infection, which is surely not what you meant your anal toy for. If you intend to share anal toy, clean it to avoid all useless troubles for your health anyway. Although all anal toys are provided with a flared base or a handle, you should always check there is some part left outside to prevent its slipping inside your rectum.
